2011 Women of the Year Luncheon

For the past 64 years, The Junior League of Stark County has honored women whose outstanding volunteer services to our community have been significant, unique, and lasting.

The League presents two awards each year. The Community Award recognizes a woman whose volunteer contributions have touched many areas of the greater Stark County community; the President’s Award recognizes a woman whose volunteer contributions have focused in a specific area: education, health and welfare, or cultural.

We are pleased to announce our 2011 award recipients for Woman of Year, Patricia Fuller (Community Award) and Patricia Miller (President’s Award.) A celebration for their service to Stark County will take place on Wednesday, April 13 at 11:30 a.m., in the Barrette Center at Walsh University, located at 2020 East Maple Street in North Canton.

Patricia Fuller is being honored with the Community Award for her deep and lasting commitment to the American Heart Association, her leadership in the initiation, development, and continuation of the Service League for Community Health and Education, in addition to her extremely active role in the Stark County Medical Society Auxiliary. Patricia also teaches in the Community Education Department at Stark State College.

Patricia Miller is being honored with the President’s Award for her long and passionate commitment to Habitat for Humanity of Stark and Carroll Counties and its mission of making an impact on people’s lives by ending poverty housing. She has served in a variety of roles as a board member, fund raiser, event chairman, mentor, negotiator, and advocate.

Reservations for the Women of the Year Luncheon can be made by calling the office of the Junior League at 330-491-4552. Cost is $35 per person.
